Waterfront Properties at the most beautiful coastline in Europe: the Côte d’Azur. You would expect that the sunny French Riviera has lots of waterfront properties for sale. But the truth is; waterfront or seafront properties are very exclusive.
When you start dreaming about buying a waterfront property, you want to have this healthy beach life feeling, right? The sounds of the sea, from early morning to late at night. Being able to walk barefoot to the sandy beach, or to take a picnic basket and get on board of your boat or the tender. Life at it’s best.
French Riviera waterfront properties on the Côte d’Azur
The truth is that this type of property on the French Riviera will often have roads in between the sea and your land. Or a train, or rocks that make it unable to go to the beach. In fact, finding a waterfront property on the Côte d’Azur close to the beach is rather unique. And it’s even more unique if you can find a seafront property with a boat garage. Or a mooring deck in front of the house.
Enjoying the sound of the ‘Grand Bleu’ waves
There’s nothing more relaxing than listening to the sound of the waves of Le Grand Bleu. It’s the combination of feeling Zen and the excitement of being so close to the Grande Bleu, that it is worth searching for it. And maybe saving money for it too, as these are the villas in the higher price range. Properties so close to the water are obviously sexier and also more pricey than a luxury villa on the land. If you find one for a good price and you want to make a good return on investment with seasonal renting, income from a waterfront property is around 30% higher than from a standard villa. Location and uniqueness are the key factors that define your rental price.
What is a seafront property?
The official definition of a property with the label seafront or waterfront is that the villa or mansion is directly connected to land on the edge of the water. Beachfront property is however not the same as waterfront property. A seafront property will not always have a beach in front of it. Sometimes you have your garden and at the end some stairs that go down a path, towards the sea and maybe a little beach. Other properties are on the same level as the nearby beach and can therefore also be called a beachfront property. However, the general term for such a villa is a waterfront property.
