The hype in real estate on Ibiza is slowing down and pricing is becoming more affordable. If you are making an investment to rent out your property to tourists, be aware you can only rent out your apartment or villa if you have a rental license. Ask if the property we are showing has a ‘Cedula’, a certificate of habitation.
To get the tourist license and rent out your property, it can not have more than six bedrooms and must be able to accommodate a maximum of 12 people. There must be one bathroom five people max and two bathrooms for six to eight people, three bathrooms for nine to 11 people and four bathrooms if you plan to rent it out to 12 people. Make sure all insurances are in place. To avoid struggling with the famous paperwork jungle, we advise you to hire a lawyer to arrange this for you.
